A man has allegedly been caught with $350,00 worth of cannabis in his car in one of two drug-related arrests in NSW.
Officers were patrolling Forest Road at Penshurst when they sighted an unregistered black Hyundai about 10pm (AEST) on Thursday.
They followed it to Cambridge Street where the 23-year-old driver pulled into a unit complex, turned off the car’s engine and started to walk away.
Police stopped the man and searched the car but he ran from the scene and was arrested in the rear yard of a nearby home.
They allegedly discovered about 45 kilograms of cannabis in several plastic bags with an estimated street value of about $350,000.
The 23-year-old has been charged with supply prohibited drug and was refused bail to appear in court on Friday.
In a separate incident, police discovered a hydroponic cannabis set-up in a house at Wollongong on Thursday.
They searched the home about 7:50pm (AEST) and allegedly discovered 16 cannabis plants as well as an amount of cannabis, LSD tablets and cash inside one of the bedrooms.
A 26-year-old man has been charged with cultivate prohibited plant and possess prohibited drug, and was granted conditional bail to appear in court on August 6.
